Kitten pictures

Here are some more pictures of the three kittens I found in my lawnmower last week. They have begun to kind of walk around wobbily. Although they seem to be doing a lot better.

They still kind of lose footing and fall over sometimes though. I'm trying to litter box train them - young I know, but I'm hopeful!!

Aaron and I have been going back and forth about names.

Confusing size charts

I've started looking at bridesmaid dresses.

One of the first things I look at - if its available - is the size chart.

I don't want to fall in love with a dress and have it have a weird size chart that doesn't fit anyone.

Like at my sisters wedding where the dresses were on such a weird chart where any girl that had a chest ended up ordering 10 sizes up.

The weirdest thing is how off some of the size charts can be...like in some brands a size 20 in one brand is a size 28 in another.

Or one brand says a size 28 but the measurements are a lot smaller than another sizes 28.

In 10 brands a size 28 (if they have it ) range from a 49 to 61.You think they would try to be a little more in agreement.

Spreading the news

I worked on telling my family and friends during the week.

We waited to tell Aaron's family until this weekend because he wanted to tell his dad in person. We decided to invite them over to dinner tonight. We were going to tell his dad on Friday, but his dad went down to his house during the weekend and didn't come back up until today.

So we had a bbq.

Aaron grilled steaks and ribs. I made salad, corn on the cob, watermelon, garlic bread and macaroni salad. Aaron's grandma brought baked beans and his other grandma brought cinnamon apple salad. I also made strawberry cupcakes.

All in all, it was a good dinner. We had two loaves of garlic bread and I accidentally burnt one because I forgot it was in the oven. :(

Grrreat.

We thought his dad was going to come early so we could tell him, sans family. Well he did come early, but he brought everyone with him. Foiling our plans to tell him first.

Aaron kind of just wanted me to walk up to them and just show them my ring. I thought he should at least say something. So he did say something - Angela has something to show you.. (great). So I showed him my ring. Then everyone came over to see it.

Everyone seemed really happy. No one really asked about plans, or anything. His aunt did ask if we set a date. Other than that.. it was pretty uneventful. His dad did come over to talk about the ring. His dad also hugged me on the way out.

Maya, Shaun and Isabella came over as they were leaving. We made margaritas and hung out for a bit.

Now Aaron's in bed and I'm watching Love Actually. So now everyone pretty much knows. Now we can start actually planning. I am going to start calling around tomorrow.

Maya and I might go see dresses on Thursday or Friday. I'm going to try to set up some appointments to see a few places next weekend.

The next few weekends after are pretty busy and we won't be able to go check out places. So next weekend will be our only chance for like most of june, unless we can go on sunday.

Are most places open on sundays? Oh well, I guess I will find out.

Other things I need to be thinking about.. Bridesmaids, etc.

Since a lot of my friends are asking about stuff like that.

First trip to try on dresses!

Okay, so I know I've only been engaged for a few days.

However - my friend and I decided to venture over to a dress shop to browse around - maybe get a feel for what I like. I think we should do things like - set a date first... but really dress shopping sounds more fun!

I went to Maxine's Bridal in Stockton. Its a big white victorian on the corner of harding. The thing I noticed is there was tons of rooms with dresses to try on, but they took me to a room where there was only a rack of dresses that "came in my size" that I could try on. Most were horribly outdated.

I tried on a bunch of dresses. Not a lot of them fit.. and I didnt really like that 90% of them were these big satin monstrosities. Don't they make chiffon or tulle dress for fat brides?! and no sleeves please. Maybe a cap sleeve... but nothing solid.

I could bore you with ugly pictures of me in wedding dresses, but I really don't think I liked anything as much as I liked the tiaras.

I don't know if I like the whole veil over the face thing. Although in the pictures, you can't even really tell that it is there. This dress was nice. It had a corset back, and chiffon like I think I want. However it just has a little beading at the top - purple beading - and thats it. Plus it has no train. I'm not sure this is the dress. I think I want something sparkly, with little to no satin or taffeta (I tried on one I thought I liked until I saw pictures.) and a corset back would be nice.
As we were wrapping up, some lady came into glare at us. I know it had been an hour - maybe more? but really was that called for? The consultant said she worked there too, but was not the owner.
Anyways.. next?

Abandoned Kitten

I found a baby Kitten - maybe 2 weeks? outside my door inside my lawn mower bag (yikes)..

It was screaming its head off and there wasn't a mother insight, so i brought him inside.

I tried to call the humane society, but they aren't open.

Update:
Aarons kind of mad about the kitten. Okay... maybe just annoyed.

After having Nesika (my sisters cat) with us for about a year, he's not too thrilled about having another cat.

No one will take the cat because its too little. The humane society said they would take the cat when he was 8 weeks old. He's about two weeks right now.

So that means unless I can find someone to take the cat earlier, we are stuck with him for 6 weeks.. at least. I asked them what to do with it til then and they seemed like they could care less. Thats the last time I donate anything there.

At least the vet I took him to cared more than them and they said they would euthanize it if I left it there. But they did give me all the stuff for free.

Hopefully he'll come home, see the cute kitten and it will just melt his heart.

I should have just let him find out on his own when he came home.I didn't want to seem like I was lying to him or anything.

In other news..The kitten is just too cute and adorable! :)I took the kitten to a vet which gave me a free consultation. They also gave me a box of formula and a bottle for free.

So I'm pretty set. I'll probably have to buy it later on though. Bottle feeding a kitten is hard work..

I'm engaged

Mr.Anglyn proposed last night !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is my ring, isn't it pretty?
I picked it out. Well kind of. We went ring shopping. I picked out about four rings I liked. I didnt know which one he had gotten, or if he had gotten one at all.

We went walking along the waterfront at sunset and he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. He said I was the best thing that has ever happened to him and he loves me more than anything. Then we went to dinner at the restaraunt we went to for our first date. Kind of predictable yes, but I loved it.

I am so excited, I thought I would start writing all of this down, so I never forget it.
