more progress

My invitations came in a couple of days ago..

I've been playing with them and I added some blue cardstock to the back...
This is the RSVP envelope, RSVP card, directions and invitation.



this is the RSVP card with the RSVP envelope... It was plain white and I printed the same graphic used on the invitations on them. I was considering buying colored RSVP envelopes,but I dont think I will now. Saving me money! yay..

I also bought my rehearsal dinner dress yesterday. Since one of our colors is blue, I think its perfect

So now I just have to print out all of the RSVP envelopes.. I'm thinking of doing the same on my outer envelopes..In a couple of weeks all of my bridesmaids are coming over to help address and assemble the invitations

Yay! My invitations are going to come today! The tracking number says they are in stockton and out for delivery!!!!

She's baaack

I haven't spoken to my mom in a year - that includes email etc...

So yesterday I was a little shocked to get an email from her. Originally she had offered that her friend was a photographer and would shoot our wedding for free. While it seemed like a good deal - I still wanted to see pictures. I didn't want to just say okay and get crap pictures. We would be willing to pay someone for some nice pictures. Anyways, she never got back to me about anything, then we stopped talking and nothing ever came up....

So yesterday, she emails me and says her friend was wondering if he is still shooting our wedding.

We have three months left until our wedding... we booked a photographer in January. What made her ask now?

Did she think we were just going to leave everything until the last minute? Sorry but we are a little more organized than that.

So I write her back and tell her that we have already booked a photographer.

So she writes back - well he was FREE.

Well whoop de doo. If she's not coming to the wedding, why would her friend still be free? Plus he was flaky and never called her back when she was calling him... I dont have a way to get a hold of him and he never dropped his photo albums off.. plus we never even met him.

Anyways. I'm inclined just to not reply instead of sending some snarky email about why she would think we would wait until the last minute to find a photographer and how she should have brought it up sooner. I don't know..

edit: I think what happened was my sister told her about the whole invitation thing and she decided to make it look like she was helping in some way. That way she could tell my family that I was refusing her help... whatever

Invitation wording!

I found this on a forum, and have decided to use this wording for my invitations since everyone is complaining about our original wording:

that is something I need to figure out by tomorrow morning when I call to change the wording.

Invitation delay

So I talked to Aaron when he got home and he's really annoyed that anyone would care. Especially since my mom has been a raging bitch.

So since he doesn't want to cause problems, he said just to put her name on there. I said I didn't really want to. so now we're just taking everyones name off. The only thing is, I called and they closed at Noon on friday, which means I have to wait until Monday to get the order through, which means it will be that much longer until we get our invites.

This sucks.

invitation wording

Is it horrible if we list Aaron's dad on the invite but not my mom (who I haven't spoken to in a year and will be lucky to even be invited?)

On our invitations, Aaron and I listed his father as host but not my mom. I haven't spoken to my mom in over a year and she'll be lucky to be getting an invite at all. However when I sent my sister the proof to show her what the invites would look like, she freaked out. I know technically it should be who is paying for the wedding - us - but we couldn't figure out a way to word it,so that his fathers name was on there but didn't draw attention to the fact that my moms name wasn't.

I do NOT want to put my moms name on there at all. I understand why Aaron wants his dad on there - he's the only child and his mom died last year and his family means a lot to him. I love his dad too and I don't think he should be deprived of being on his only son's wedding invitation just because my mom is a raving lunatic. That being said, when talking about wording, I didn't want anyones name on there but our names. Aaron got upset because his fathers name wasn't on there. So we changed it to what we have now. I just don't want anyone in my family to be mad at me for this or to give my mom and my fuel to use against me so she can further make herself a martyr for why I'm such a bad daughter.

We already approved the proof sent, but the invitation place said they could make changes for $5. I'm inclined to just let the wording and just ignore what people say and let them think whatever. Anyone who knows me should know was a volatile relationship my mom and I have.. and I don't really care to hear anymore ... but she's your MOM!!!!.. whatever. I'm past the whole being nice to her because she's my mom and letting her treat me like crap..

Invitation proofs

I got my wedding invitation proofs today from Wedding Paper Divas. We ordered on Sunday night, so it was about a 2 day turnaround...

Here are the proofs. Can anyone proof read them and let me know if I need to make corrections?

I would really appreciate it!



-Notes: I'm kind of worried that if I send my mom an invite (we aren't talking right now), that she'll be offended that Aaron's dad is on it, but not her... but I also don't want my mom's name on there since we haven't ever really gotten along and right now she's being a b****. On the other hand, Aaron insists that his dad's name be on there.


Notes: I'm kind of unsure that I really like how I've worded the accepts/declines line... but I dont know what to do to fix it. They also didn't change the colors like they were supposed to.


Notes: Should I put east? or left/right? Do most people know which way East is? should it be capitalized? etc.
Is the hotel info good? Should there be more/less info?

RIP sophie

My backyard kitty Sophie was hit by a car and killed. I found her on my lawn Sunday morning. I hope she didn't suffer.

She was an incredibly sweet kitten, that was probably about a year old.

She showed up at my house about 6 months ago. I've been feeding her ever since. I will miss her. Its pretty sad looking out into the backyard and not seeing her out there. She always slept on the mat next to her water bowl.

I went cake tasting today to pick the fillings out for the cake.

Here are the cake layers I'm having:

I think the bottom layer is going to be the vanilla cake. I'm just kind of torn between the other two. Out of the other two, I'd probably have the Yellow cake since I thought the Grand Marnier cream was soo good I almost wanted to lick the plate!

changes

Before work, I went with Tasha to Lodi to check out some salons where the bridal party might go to get our hair done. Except they kept wanting to jack the prices up and a lot of them wanted us to come in at 8 AM! That would be 7 and a half hours of us being at the salon!!

Anyways, I was at first saying hair and nails so people would have something to do. Now I'm like okay - just hair and maybe a few people will want to get their make-up done. I'm thinking of nixing the nail idea for anyone but me... I'm going to talk to them and see what we can do to get the hours down.

I dropped off a picture of the cake i like at the baker, and she called me with some concerns that she wouldnt be able to do it. :(
So I made an appointment to do a small tasting when I go back..

Right now the flavors for the cake are:
first tier - Chocolate with chocolate mousse
second tier - White with Strawberries and Bavarian Cream
third tier - white with Bavarian Cream

I think right now I'm considering switching to yellow cake instead of white cake. I'm also wanting to try the lemon and bavarian cream, grand marnier and raspberry fillings. I didn't really like the strawberry filling.. It was basically a gel with bits and pieces, but the gel was super good and the bits not so much.

I also went and ordered two more bridesmaid bouquets.
