Dress issues

So I was talking to one of my friends today and basically she said that if I don't pick a dress that she likes and would buy herself, she'd rather be a guest at the wedding.

Here is what happened:

I called her and we were just talking about some dresses..etc. She asked what color I was thinking of. I said I probably was going to pick some shade of blue, since its a color Aaron and I agree on, but I'd rather have pink. She said she didn't really want to wear a non-black dress.

So she asked if the bridesmaids could just pick a dress and I could have final say. Well if I have final say, then why can't I just pick a dress, that I think looks nice (I mean its not like I'm picking the candidates for uglydress.com or anything). It is only one day and I'd rather have something that I like. Especially since they all have to wear the same dress and everyone else has said they'd wear whatever I want them to.

So she said she'd rather be a guest in the wedding than buy a dress that she doesn't like to wear only once. So I said fine.

Now I'm worried because she's supposed to be my best friend. She was going to be my maid of honor. So now I'm wondering if I should just plan on her not being in the wedding.

Aaron says it was a mistake to take them to try on dresses in the first place. i should have found something I liked and just told them what it was and where it is.

I'm just sad because she was really the only one of my friends I was going to ask. Now I'm wondering who else do I ask? I'm just really upset. :(

Its not fair.

If I was in her wedding, I'd wear whatever she wanted me to. If it was hideous, I might say something to Aaron, but I'd still wear it.

So now she's like we'll you still have a year, maybe you'll find something else.. etc. But still what happens if I choose a dress she doesn't like. :(

This sucks. :(
