The great venue hunt

My Mom, Aaron and I went to see a few venues today. We also saw one last night. So far we've seen 3 venues.

Right now I'll just call them Venue 1, Venue 2, Venue 3

Venue 1:
Pros and Cons
  • Nice Garden Ceremony Site
  • Reception Site
  • Kind of sucky garden wedding set up. They will only do two set ups and both are not that great. I wish they would let us set it up however we want. That would be great.
  • Seating would be limited. There are only 75 chairs allowed in the garden but it has occupancy up to 175. Everyone else would have to stand.
  • Seating for the reception would be limited to 98 if we wanted to use the round tables
  • Seating for the reception would be a lot more if we used the long banquet tables
  • It has a nice big kitchen
  • It has a big stage with a good PA system
  • Included is two extra rooms - a lobby with couches and a pretty window filled room. I'm sure we can do something with those rooms
  • I'd have to get changed in the bathroom or at home - There is no where to get changed there privately
  • We'd have to pay for parking per car
  • The ceremony site is good for 2 hours.
  • The reception site is good for 12 hours (not including set up) we can be there until midnight.

Venue 2-
  • Pretty Rose Garden w/ lots of benches and tables
  • Really pretty wedding site
  • Nice Gazebo
  • Pretty Archway
  • Tables, Chairs included
  • Nice Brides Room with TV, Bed, Private Bathroom w/ vanity and shower.
  • Nice Grooms Room with Lounge Area, Big Sofa, Kitchen Counter, Mini-Fridge (will be stocked with beer), and a bed and seperate entrance to public bathroom. Okay Wooden Lobby Area
  • Lots of pretty arches with flowers and lights
  • There are flowers and lights all over the place. So it will be pretty after dark
  • You have to order the alcohol through them and all they offer is beer, wine, champagne and sodas
  • The reception/wedding area is in the same outdoor patio, so we'd all be kind of stuck together all the time

Venue 3

  • Really picturesque
  • Pretty Ceremony area overlooking lake
  • Pretty Reception area with twinkle lights everywhere
  • Uneven walkways around the reception area - not ideal for heels
  • Unsure about cost because owner was not there
So I'm not sure about costs or anything else because I dont have all the details
  • Really nice pretty driveway

We also went to a wedding cake store (it was near where we had lunch) and a paper store that specialized in invitations (also near where we had lunch).

So I have some more ideas.

My mom and Aaron say they are all wedding-ed out .... at least for this weekend...

I'm not, I'm ready to do more. :)
